ABOUT

Welcome to The Wandering Proffitt!

Martin Luther once said, “We are all mere beggars showing other beggars where to find bread.” I like that.

I like that because that’s how I hope to live my life. I want to be a guy looking for bread – the glimpses of goodness, meaning, and purpose – that I then share with others.

I’m Adam and I’ve been in professional ministry in one form or another (mostly working with kids and students) for the last 14 years. 12 of those years have been serving the community of First Christian Church in Johnson City, TN. (My thoughts here do not necessarily represent the church’s stance on any given issue.)

I’m a big fan of reading, good conversation, soccer, traveling, the outdoors and writing; though not necessarily in that order. I’m  pretty lucky to be Allison’s husband and Jack’s dad. We spend a lot of our time dreaming about our next adventure.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy what you find and I look forward to connecting with you. If you read something you like, or something that stirs something inside of you; let me know! I’d love to hear from you!

  5. You get one life, one shot to find every beautiful sight, to help others, and to enjoy the odd series of events that allow a bag of organic molecules to know they exist. Don’t waste it. (Finding God in the Waves)
